Maintenance Workshop - Demo Data

Evaluating or training on the maintenance workshop module needs realistic data in every state, which is slow to type by hand. This companion module generates a full Arabic demo scenario once at installation, with real stock issues, invoices, vendor bills and journal entries. It plugs into the workshop module plus Accounting, Stock and Purchase. Trainers and implementers use it on test or demo databases only, never on production.

   Install on a test database only

   Install the module on a test or demo database that already has the workshop module. It writes real accounting and stock documents, so it must not be installed in production. The generation runs once in a post-init hook.

   Company and settings are prepared

   The builder sets up the company, chart of accounts if missing, and workshop settings. Users, employees and partners (customers and vendors) are then created. Accounts and locations are selected automatically.

   Catalogue and workshops are created

   It creates three workshops, a spare-parts and services catalogue with warranty terms, and checklists. Stock is seeded in workshop locations. This gives every later step something to work with.

   Fleet, contracts and schedules

   A vehicle fleet is generated with odometer history, then maintenance contracts with mileage and date stages and preventive schedules. Contracts are settled and statements built. Vendor settlements are also created.

   Work orders in every state

   More than 150 work orders are walked through the workflow states with parts issued, outputs, external work, invoices and warranty claims. Random generation is seeded for repeatability. Any failed order is reported.

   Reset by recreating the database

   Uninstalling does not remove data because the workshop module guards records with stock or accounting activity. The supported reset is to drop and recreate the test database. Plan for that before installing.
