Overview
Warehouses hold stock that has not moved for months while other items run short, and management needs evidence without touching stock data. This module runs an analysis policy over chosen warehouses, locations and products and freezes the result as an immutable snapshot with a report center, exports and review cases. It reads Inventory only, works per company, and uses groups for analysts, managers and cost visibility. Decision makers get dead-stock, shortage and expiry lists with an approval trail.
Usage steps
- 1
Define an analysis policy
Under Analysis Policies the manager creates a policy naming the company, warehouses, optional locations, product categories and included or omitted products. It sets analysis days, dead-stock days, new-item grace, lead, safety and target coverage days, and ABC and XYZ thresholds. Each report can be switched on or off.
- Scope: warehouses, locations, categories, products
- Days and thresholds
- Switch each report on or off
- 2
Add overrides and analysts
Product or category overrides change the dead, grace, lead, safety and target days, or exclude an item from dead stock with a reason. Allowed analysts are internal users of the company. Safety limits cap rows, moves, quants and export sizes.
- Product and category overrides
- Exclusion reason required
- Allowed analysts and safety limits
- 3
Generate a snapshot
The Generate Snapshot button runs the read-only engine, which reconstructs the ledger from completed and open moves and checks it against current balances. It refuses runs with future-dated moves, overlapping locations or exceeded limits. The result is stored as an immutable snapshot with row counts and diagnostics.
- Button: Generate Snapshot
- Ledger reconciled to balances
- Immutable stored result
- 4
Browse the report center
Inside Analysis Snapshots the Report Center offers dead stock, fast/slow/non-moving, estimated age, stock ledger, coverage, excess, replenishment, turnover, ABC/XYZ, balances, adjustments and scrap, and lot expiry. Each tile opens a filtered list. Cost estimates are visible only to the cost group.
- Twelve report tiles
- Urgent shortages and dead stock counters
- Cost visible to the cost group only
- 5
Open a review case
From a report row the analyst presses Open / Create Review Case. The case gets a subject, responsible user, deadline, decision type and rationale. The product or original document can be opened from the row.
- Button: Open / Create Review Case
- Decision, deadline, responsible
- Open product or source document
- 6
Review, approve and close
A case moves from New to Reviewed with Mark Reviewed, to Approved with Approve Decision, and to Closed with Close with Evidence. Rationale is required before review and evidence before closing. An approved decision is locked, and only evidence can be added.
- Buttons: Mark Reviewed, Approve Decision, Close with Evidence
- Rationale then evidence required
- Approved decision locked
- 7
Export to Excel or PDF
The Export Report button opens a small wizard to choose the report and whether to include cost. The Excel export is a download route with row limits, and a PDF report is printable. Exports respect the switches captured with the snapshot.
- Wizard: report and include cost
- Excel route with row limits
- PDF printable report

Schedule and alert
A policy can run automatically every set number of days under a scheduled analyst. Optional alerts create review activities for dead stock and urgent shortages. Failures are counted and the last error is kept on the policy.
- Scheduled run every N days
- Alerts for dead stock and shortage
- Failure count and last error
