Overview
Sales staff often need to know what price a customer paid last time before quoting again. This module adds two read-only price fields to the sales order line that are filled when the product is selected. It extends the standard Sales app and needs no new menu or wizard. Salespeople quote faster and more consistently, and managers see price history without leaving the order.
Usage steps
- 1
Create the sales order
In Sales > Orders the user opens a quotation and selects the customer. The customer is the key used to look up earlier prices.
- Select the customer first
- Standard quotation form
- 2
Pick a product on the line
When a product is chosen on an order line the onchange method searches earlier sales of that product for the same customer. It fills the last two prices found.
- Triggered by product change
- Searches past confirmed orders
- Fills two price fields
- 3
Read Last Sale Price 1 and 2
The two fields sit beside the unit price on the line, both in the list and the line form. They show the most recent and the second most recent price sold to that customer.
- Last Sale Price 1 = most recent
- Last Sale Price 2 = previous one
- Read-only
- 4
Set the price with context
The salesperson compares the history with the current unit price and edits the price if needed. The module never changes the price on its own.
- Price stays manual
- Helps consistent quoting
- Works on quotations and orders
