Show Images in Excel

By default exporting an image field produces a long Base64 string that is unreadable. This module replaces the XLSX export so picture fields are converted into real images placed inside the workbook. It works on any model through the standard Export dialog. Anyone who shares product, employee or asset lists from Odoo gets a readable visual file.

   Select records and open Export

   In a list view the user ticks the records and opens Action > Export. The usual dialog appears.

   Pick image fields

   The user moves the image fields, for example Image or Image 128, into the exported list together with other columns.

   Export to Excel

   The user chooses the XLSX format and clicks Export. The controller checks that binary content is Base64 and refuses invalid data with a clear message.

   • Limit of 65535 rows for old .xls
   • Error for non-Base64 binaries

   Open the workbook with pictures

   Each image is saved as a temporary file, inserted into the matching cell and the row is resized. The downloaded workbook shows pictures in place of text.
