Overview
Building a domain on a many2one or many2many field normally means typing record IDs. This module upgrades the web domain editor so users pick the records from a list and use the in and not in operators. It changes the OWL domain selector used by filters, automated actions and record rules. Power users and administrators build correct domains faster.
Usage steps
- 1
Open the domain editor
In any place that offers a domain (custom filter, automated action, record rule) the user opens the domain editor dialog.
- Works in the standard editor
- No menu of its own
- 2
Pick a relational field
The user chooses a many2one or many2many field as the left side of a condition.
- Leaf node loads field definition
- Path selector available
- 3
Choose in or not in
The operator dropdown offers in and not in for relational fields. Selecting one shows a record selector instead of a raw text box.
- Operators: in, not in
- Record picker appears
- 4
Select records
The user searches and ticks the target records. The widget stores their IDs inside the domain value.
- Multiple records allowed
- Value written as IDs list
- 5
Add nodes and branches
Buttons Add node, Add branch and delete let the user combine several conditions with and/or logic.
- Buttons: Add node, Add branch, Delete
- Root and branch operators
- 6
Save the domain
On confirming, the domain is saved to the field of the host record and applied immediately.
- Result visible as code editor text
- Reusable in filters
