Automatic Payroll

Creating payslips manually every month for all employees is repetitive. This module adds settings and a scheduled action to generate the payslip batch automatically at month start, month end or a specific day. It extends the payroll batches of the community payroll app. HR and payroll officers save time and avoid missing a pay run.

   Enable automatic generation

   In Payroll settings the administrator ticks Generate Payslip. If it is off, the cron raises an Enable configuration settings message.

   • Field: Generate Payslip
   • Saved in system parameters

   Choose the schedule option

   The Option field offers Month First, Specific date and Month End. For a specific date the Day field holds the day number.

   • Option: first, specific, end
   • Day default 1

   Scheduled action checks the date

   The cron Payslip Generation runs daily and calls month_first, month_end or specific_date depending on the option. If today is not the chosen day it raises the corresponding message.

   • Daily cron
   • Messages: Today is not month first/end
   • Can't generate payslips today

   Generate the batch

   generate_payslips creates a hr.payslip.run and payslips for the employees. It requires employees to be selected and raises You must select employee(s) otherwise.

   • Creates batch and payslips
   • Uses payroll wizard logic
   • Validation on empty employees

   Review and confirm

   HR opens Payroll > Payslips Batches, checks amounts and confirms the payslips in the normal workflow.

   • Standard confirm flow
   • Print payslips
   • Send by email
