Overview
Cashiers normally log in to the back office and then navigate to the point of sale. This module lets an administrator assign a POS configuration to a user so login opens the POS at once. It is aimed at shop staff who only use the till. It plugs into the Point of Sale app and the user record. If no session is open for that configuration, one is created automatically. The benefit is time saved at every shift start.
Usage steps
- 1
Open the user record
An administrator opens Settings, Users and selects the cashier's user form. A Point Of Sale section carries the new configuration field. Only administrators should set it.
- Screen: Settings > Users
- Section: Point Of Sale
- 2
Assign a POS configuration
In the POS Configuration field the administrator picks the shop the user works in and saves. The link is stored on the user record. Leaving it empty keeps the standard login behaviour.
- Field: POS Configuration
- Empty = normal login
- 3
Automatic session on login
The module overrides the /web/login route. After a successful login, if the user has a POS configuration without a current session, the system creates a new POS session for that user. The step runs with elevated rights only to create the session.
- Route: /web/login
- Creates the session when none is open
- Uses the user and configuration
- 4
Redirect to the POS screen
The user is then redirected directly to the point of sale interface instead of the back-office home. The cashier can start selling right away. Users without a linked configuration are unaffected.
- Direct redirect to POS
- Other users unaffected
