POS Session Z Report (Thermal)

Shop managers need a short end-of-shift summary of sales, taxes, returns and cash. This module adds a session report button inside the POS and a receipt-format PDF report for the session. It is used by cashiers and supervisors at closing time. It plugs into the Point of Sale app, its sessions and orders, and prints on a narrow thermal paper size. A setting per shop controls who can use it. The benefit is an instant Z report without going to the back office.

   Enable the report in settings

   In the POS settings the manager ticks Allowed to print Session Report for the shop. The option is stored on the POS configuration. Without it the button is not offered.

   Use the session report button

   On the product screen of the POS a session report button appears for the cashier. Pressing it requests the PDF report for the open session. The action runs from the front end without leaving the till.

   Session totals computed

   The session model provides helper methods for the open date and time and for session details such as total sales, taxes, returns, discounts and gross total. Returned orders are flagged through a Return Order field. Product totals are added to the report.

   Print on thermal paper

   The report uses a dedicated paper format with a small page width and no header line, suited to receipt printers. It shows company details, the cashier, the session name and state, opening date and time, and opening cash balance. The user prints it through the normal report action.
