Overview
Refunds are a common source of loss, so shops want to restrict who can perform them. This module asks for a security code when the cashier presses Refund on the ticket screen. Managers set a code per shop or one global code for all shops. It plugs into the Point of Sale app and the system parameters. The benefit is simple control of refunds without new user groups.
Usage steps
- 1
Set a shop refund code
On the POS configuration form the manager fills the Refund Security integer field with the code. It applies only to that shop. It is the fallback when no global code exists.
- Field: Refund Security
- Per shop code
- 2
Set a global refund code
In the general settings the manager can fill Global Refund Security, stored as a system parameter. When present it overrides the shop code for every shop. This suits companies with one approver.
- Field: Global Refund Security
- Stored as system parameter
- Overrides shop code
- 3
Cashier presses Refund
On the ticket screen the cashier selects an order and presses Refund. Instead of proceeding, the system reads the global code, falling back to the shop code, and opens a number pad popup. The cashier types the code.
- Screen: POS ticket screen
- Number pad popup
- Global code first, then shop code
- 4
Validate the code
If the typed number equals the configured code, the standard refund flow continues. Otherwise an error popup says Invalid Password and the refund does not start. No refund is possible without the correct code.
- Correct code: refund proceeds
- Wrong code: Invalid Password popup
