Project Dashboard

Project managers usually open several screens to see how projects, tasks and timesheets are going. This module adds a Dashboard menu to the Project app showing totals and charts in one place. It reads data from projects, tasks, timesheets and sales orders, so it plugs into the Project, Timesheets and Sales apps. Managers can filter by date and by project or employee. The benefit is a single overview of workload, hours and profitability.

   Open the dashboard

   The user opens the Dashboard menu in the Project app, which loads a client-side dashboard page. The page requests its data from the server when it loads. No setup is required.

   Read the summary tiles

   Tiles show total projects, total employees, total tasks, total hours, total profitability and total sale orders. Each tile is computed by the get_tiles_data method. They give the headline health of the portfolio.

   Filter by dates and selection

   The user chooses a start and end date and selects projects or employees, and the page calls the filter routes to refresh all figures. The data is recomputed for the selected scope. This narrows the view to one period or client.

   Review hours and billing

   A table shows hours recorded per project split into billable and non-billable, with totals. Timesheet employees with the most hours feed a graph. Managers see where time is spent.

   Analyse tasks with charts

   Task counts per project are shown in a table and charts with dynamic colours. Managers compare workload across projects. The charts refresh when filters change.
