Overview
Businesses that analyse profit per shop need POS entries to carry an analytic account. This module adds an Analytic Account field to the POS configuration, orders and sessions. Accountants use it inside the Point of Sale and Accounting apps. When the session is closed, the journal entry lines get the analytic distribution at 100 percent. The benefit is shop-level profitability reports without manual entry changes.
Usage steps
- 1
Set the analytic account on the shop
In the POS settings the accountant picks an Analytic Account for the shop configuration. The value is stored on the POS configuration. All sessions of that shop inherit it.
- Field: Analytic Account on POS settings
- Inherited by sessions
- 2
See it on POS orders
The POS order form shows the Analytic Account field so each order is tagged. The session stores the same account as a related field. Users can check the tag on any order.

- Related and stored on the session

Distribute on sales journal lines
When the session posts its entry, the sale lines and receivable lines are built with an analytic distribution of 100 percent on the shop account. The order line preparation also uses the order account. Sales revenue therefore lands on the analytic account.
- Sale and receivable lines tagged
- Distribution 100%

Distribute on stock lines
For stock expense and stock output entries the module adds the same distribution, depending on whether Anglo-Saxon accounting is used. Cost of goods sold is thus attached to the analytic account too. The result is a complete analytic view per shop.
- Stock expense and output lines tagged
- Depends on Anglo-Saxon setting
