Picking Barcode Scanner and Serial Upload

Receiving serial-tracked goods means typing many serial numbers and labelling them. This module adds a Scan Product button on the picking and an Upload serial number wizard that reads an Excel sheet. Warehouse staff use it inside the Inventory app on receipts. It creates the serial lines for the matching products and prints a receipt barcode report. The benefit is much faster receiving and printable barcode labels.

   Open the picking

   The user opens a receipt in the Inventory app. The header shows a Scan Product button and the wizard action for serial upload. The picking is confirmed by the standard workflow.

   Scan products with the scanner action

   Pressing Scan Product starts the scanner client action that reads barcodes and sends the scan to a server route for the picking. A dialog patch keeps the legacy dialogs working. The scanned products are matched against the picking moves.

   Upload serial numbers from Excel

   The Upload serial number wizard has a File field for an Excel sheet. The sheet holds the serial number, product name and variant value per row, starting after the header row. The sheet is read for receipts only.

   Create serial lines

   For each row the system finds the product and variant and its move on the picking, then creates a move line with the serial number and a done quantity of one. If the product name does not match or the picking has no such product, a message is raised. Locations and units are copied from the move.

   Print the barcode receipt

   After assigning serials the wizard returns the receipt barcode report, a QWeb PDF for the picking that prints each serial as a barcode. The user prints or saves it for labelling. This closes the loop from file to physical labels.
