POS Stock Information

Cashiers cannot see availability before they sell in the standard POS. This module shows the product stock quantity on the POS screen, either On Hand, Forecasted or both. It is switched on per shop in the settings and works inside the Point of Sale app using the Inventory data. Managers use it to prevent selling items that are out of stock. The benefit is better service and fewer cancelled sales.

   Enable stock display

   In the POS settings the manager ticks Display Stock Information for the shop. The option is stored on the POS configuration. Without it the tiles look as usual.

   Choose which quantity to show

   The manager selects what to display: On Hand Qty, Forecasted Qty or both. The selection is a field on the POS configuration. It controls the labels On Hand Qty and Virtual Qty on tiles.

   Load stock data in the POS

   When the POS starts, the product data are loaded with their quantities from the shop's stock. The POS models are extended to hold these values. The quantities reflect the warehouse of the shop.

   Cashier sees quantities while selling

   Each product tile displays the chosen quantities so the cashier knows availability at a glance. After a sale the displayed quantity is updated through the payment screen logic. Sold-out items become obvious.
