POS Receipt Design

Every business wants its own receipt layout. This module adds a Receipt Designs screen where a receipt is written as XML, then assigned to a POS with a logo. Two ready designs are included as a starting point. POS managers use it with the Point of Sale app, and cashiers print the chosen layout at the till. It avoids code changes each time the receipt changes.

   Open Receipt Designs

   In Point of Sale > Configuration the manager opens Receipt Designs. A list shows existing designs and two examples are loaded with the module. New ones are created with the standard button.

   Write the receipt layout

   On the design form the manager names the design and writes the receipt XML. The layout uses receipt elements such as header, lines and totals. The text is stored on the record.

   Enable it on the POS

   In the POS configuration the manager ticks Is Custom Receipt and picks the design. The chosen XML is copied to the configuration. A logo can be added.

   Load the design in the session

   When a POS session opens, the session data carries the design. The till reads it at startup. No manual reload is needed.

   Print at the till

   After payment the cashier prints the receipt. The POS renders the chosen design with order data. Changes in the design apply to the next session.
