Custom Product Label Printing

Shops often want a product label that shows a barcode plus a coded cost or reference. This module adds a Barcode Code table that maps each digit to a letter or symbol, so the cost is printed as a code that staff can read. Settings decide whether the standard price and the reference appear on the label. Warehouse and retail teams use it with Products and Accounting. A product label report is included for printing.

   Open the label settings

   In Accounting settings the user finds the barcode label options. Two checkboxes decide the content: use the standard price as a coded value and show the product reference. A button opens the code table.

   Define the code table

   A record maps each digit from zero to nine to a character. The user gives it a name and can activate or deactivate it. Only the active table is used when labels are printed.

   Compute the coded cost

   The product template computes a Cost in code field from the standard price with the active table. Digits are replaced by their mapped characters. Users cannot read the real cost at a glance.

   Prepare the product reference

   When the reference option is on, the label shows the internal reference under the barcode. A helper builds the reference text for printing. Products without a reference just skip it.

   Print the product label

   From the product or a list the user prints the product label report. The QWeb template draws the barcode, name, price and the coded cost. The result goes to the label printer.
