GeoLocation Map Widget

Entering addresses by hand is slow and error-prone. This module adds a GeoLocation Map widget that extends the Char field and shows a map where the user pins a place. The address of the selected point is filled back into the field. It depends only on the base app. The benefit is accurate addresses picked visually.

   Register the widget

   The module registers geolocation_map in the fields registry with the display name GeoLocation Map Viewer. It extends the standard Char field component. A template adds the map button.

   Add it to a view

   A developer applies widget="geolocation_map" to a Char address field. The field then shows a map button next to the text. Views without the attribute are unchanged.

   Open the map and pin a place

   The user presses the map button and clicks a point on the map. The marker moves to the chosen position. The coordinates are used to look up the address.

   Receive the address

   The resolved address text is written into the field. The user can still edit it before saving. The record then stores it as normal text.
