Invoice Format Editor

Every business wants invoices that match its identity. This module adds document layouts such as Modern and Standard and a layout designer with colours, logo, customer and company positions and field toggles. It extends the document layout wizard and the invoice report of Accounting and Sales. The benefit is a branded invoice chosen from a preview without editing QWeb.

   Open the layout designer

   From the document layout settings the administrator opens the new layout screen. It extends base.document.layout with a base layout and a document layout choice. A live preview is shown.

   Pick a design

   Designs such as Modern and Standard are provided as doc.layout records. Each has its own preview template and invoice template. The choice is stored on the company as its base layout.

   Set colours and positions

   A layout defines Base Color, Heading text, Text, Customer text and Company text colours. It also sets logo, tagline, customer and company positions. These values change the rendered invoice.

   Choose visible fields

   The Invoice Details page toggles Sales person, Description, Tax, Customer Reference, Source, Address, City, Country and VAT. The View Fields and Customer Details groups organise them. Only ticked items print.

   Apply per invoice or company

   An invoice can carry its own base layout and theme, otherwise the company value is used. The invoice report is inherited to render the chosen design. External layouts standard, boxed, bold and striped are customised.
