Overview
In some companies a cashier or branch accountant must not see every journal. This module adds an Allowed Users list to the journal and uses a shared visibility mixin from the base record rules module to filter journals accordingly. It depends on Accounting. The benefit is per-journal access control without custom groups.
Usage steps
- 1
Open the journal
From Accounting configuration the manager opens a journal. The form is extended with the Allowed Users field. The change applies to that journal only.
- Model: account.journal
- Field: user_ids
- 2
Choose the allowed users
The manager adds users to the Allowed Users list. The list is a many-to-many field on the journal. An empty list keeps the default visibility.
- Field: Allowed Users
- Many-to-many
- 3
Visibility is filtered
The journal inherits limit.visibility.mixin from base_record_rules. That mixin applies the record rule based on the allowed users. Users outside the list no longer see the journal.
- Mixin: limit.visibility.mixin
- Record rule enforced
- 4
Review and adjust
The manager can change the list at any time when staff move between branches. The effect follows on the next page load. Accounting data itself is never modified.
- Change at any time
- No accounting data changed
