Overview
The standard AED currency record shows the text symbol after the amount, which does not match the newer official dirham sign. This module rewrites the base AED currency data with the new symbol glyph and places it before the amount. A stylesheet supplies the glyph so it renders in the backend and reports. It depends on accounting and is useful to any company that invoices in dirhams.
Usage steps
- 1
Install the module
Install from Apps on a database that uses the AED currency. The data file temporarily unlocks the AED currency record, applies the new values and locks it again. No screen is added.
- Currency record base.AED
- Temporary noupdate toggle
- 2
Symbol is updated
The symbol field of AED receives the new glyph. The currency form under Accounting configuration shows it. Existing balances are not changed.
- Field: Symbol
- No accounting entries touched
- 3
Position before amount
The symbol position is set to before, so amounts read with the sign first. This applies to monetary fields and printed reports. Other currencies are untouched.
- Field: Symbol Position = Before
- Only AED affected

Glyph styling
A stylesheet in static/src/css loads the symbol glyph so browsers display it. Users then see the sign in invoices, lists and the point of sale. Verify on a PDF report as well.
- CSS asset style.css
- Check invoices and reports
