Video Meeting Integration

Scheduling online meetings by hand means copying links between two tools. This module connects the Odoo Calendar to a video meeting service: company credentials are stored and authenticated once, then any calendar event can generate a meeting. The meeting URL, code and event ID are saved on the event and shown as a Join Meeting button. It depends on Calendar and Contacts and serves anyone who books meetings in Odoo.

   Enter API credentials

   Open the company form and go to the Video Meet tab, Credentials page. Enter Client ID, Client Secret and Redirect URI issued by the meeting service. Save the company.

   Authenticate the company

   Press Authenticate. The browser goes to the service, the user approves, and the controller /zoom_meet_authentication receives the code. Tokens are stored on the company.

   Refresh the token

   The Authentication page shows access token, expiry and refresh token. Press Refresh Token to renew the access when it expires. Expiry is a datetime field.

   Tick Video Meet on an event

   On a calendar event tick the meeting checkbox. On save the create method calls the service and fills the URL, code and event ID. The meeting URL replaces the video call location.

   Join the meeting

   Open the Video Meet tab on the event and press Join Meeting. The action opens the meeting URL. The link also appears in the calendar view and the invitation description.

   Update or delete meetings

   Changing the event calls the service through write, and deleting the event removes the remote meeting through unlink. Keep the token valid to avoid errors. Attendees receive the updated invitation.
