POS Order Line Voiding

Restaurants and shops need to cancel items already sent to the kitchen or counter without losing the audit trail. This module adds a void action on point of sale order lines with a predefined reason and a reference. A stock picking is created for the voided goods and a void report records the cashier, product, quantity and time. It depends on Point of Sale and Employees and serves cashiers, supervisors and inventory controllers.

   Define void reasons

   Reasons are stored in the void reason model. Three sample reasons ship with the module: slow service, wrong order and other. Add or archive reasons as needed.

   Authorise employees

   On the employee, tick the Can Void flag. Only these employees see the void action in the session. The employee data is loaded into the point of sale.

   Configure picking types

   In the POS configuration and settings choose the picking type for voided items and for orders not paid. These types decide the stock movement made on void. Defaults are taken from the warehouse.

   Void a line in the POS

   In an open order the authorised cashier selects a line and uses the void action. A popup asks for the reason and a reference. Lines already printed to the kitchen are flagged.

   Stock picking is created

   On confirmation the system creates a picking from the UI with the void reference and reason. Stock reflects the loss or return. The picking is visible in Inventory.

   Void report record

   Each void also writes a report record with cashier, order, product, price, quantity, reason and time. Managers analyse it from the Void Orders menu. Records cannot be lost when the order is edited.

   Review and audit

   Supervisors group the report by cashier, reason or session to spot patterns. The session field is related from the order. This supports control of discounts and losses.
