Overview
Sensitive documents such as payslips or invoices should not be opened by whoever receives the file. This module adds an Enable Password option and a Password field to the report action. The report controller intercepts the PDF download and applies encryption before returning it. It depends on base and web, and applies to any report the administrator chooses.
Usage steps
- 1
Open the report action
Go to Settings, Technical, Reports and open the report to protect. The form has two new fields. Only administrators in technical mode see it.
- Model: ir.actions.report
- Technical mode required
- 2
Enable the password
Tick Enable Password and enter the Password. Save the report. From then on the PDF of this report is encrypted.
- Fields: Enable Password, Password
- Per report setting
- 3
Print or download the report
A user prints the report from the usual Print menu. The overridden report route /report/pdf generates the PDF as usual. The controller then passes the content to the protection method.
