POS Category-wise Receipt

A long receipt with mixed products is hard to read, especially for restaurants and retailers with many departments. This module groups order lines on the receipt by their POS category, printing the category name as a bold underlined heading. It works with the standard receipt and the POS order model and needs no configuration. Cashiers and customers get a clearer receipt.

   Install the module

   Install from Apps with Point of Sale present. No settings screen is added. The behaviour applies to all POS configurations.

   Assign POS categories

   On each product set its POS Category as usual. The first category of the product is used. Products without a category are grouped separately.

   Order lines are grouped

   When the receipt is prepared, the order script reads each line product category name from the POS database. Lines are accumulated per category name. The grouped structure is passed to the receipt.

   Receipt shows headings

   The receipt template prints each category name as a bold underlined heading above its lines. Prices and totals remain unchanged. Preview by printing a test order.
