POS Predefined and Custom Discounts

Cashiers often need to apply the same discount percentages repeatedly, and typing them by hand is slow and error-prone. This module lets the shop define a list of named discounts with fixed percentages on the Point of Sale configuration. The list is loaded into the POS session and offered in a popup when the cashier presses the discount button. A dedicated security group controls who may enter a free custom discount instead of choosing a predefined one. It plugs into the Point of Sale app and its settings screen.

   Define the discount list

   Open the Point of Sale settings and find the Discounts table added by the module. Add one row per discount with a name and a percentage. Rows are locked for editing while the shop has an active session, so changes cannot disturb a running shift.

   • Discount Name and Discount Percentage are both required

   Load discounts into the session

   When a POS session opens, the module adds the custom discount model to the data loaded by the session. Only the name and percentage are sent to the screen. The cashier therefore sees the current list without any extra step.

   Open the discount popup

   On the product screen the cashier presses the Discount button on the numpad. The system checks with the server whether the user belongs to the Custom Discount group and then opens a selection popup. The popup lists every predefined discount as a button.

   Apply to a line or the whole order

   The popup lets the cashier choose whether the discount applies to the selected line only or to the whole order. Pressing a predefined discount applies its percentage immediately. Users in the Custom Discount group can type their own percentage instead.

   Remove or change a discount

   The popup includes a Remove Discount button that clears the discount from the line or order. The choice is saved with the order data so a resumed or synced order keeps the same discount flags.
