Overview
In long orders it is hard to tell whether a product was already added. This module adds a search box to the order summary of the POS that filters the current lines by product name. It is used by cashiers during busy sales. When nothing matches, a No product available warning is shown. It plugs into the Point of Sale order widget and needs no setup.
Usage steps
- 1
Find the search box
The search input is placed inside the order summary area of the POS. It appears automatically once the module is installed.
- Inside the order summary
- No setting required
- 2
Type a product name
While the cashier types, each key stroke compares the text, case-insensitively, with the display names of the products in the current order. Matching lines are collected in a result list.
- Case-insensitive match
- Works on the current order only
- 3
Select a result
Clicking a result deselects all lines and selects the chosen line, so it can be edited with the numpad right away.
- Selects the matching line
- Ready for quantity or discount edit
- 4
No match warning
If no line contains the typed text, the module flags that the product is not in the order and displays the No product available message.
- Warning message shown
- Cancel icon clears the search
