Overview
This developer module lets Odoo code push toast notifications to a specific user's browser in real time. Each user gets channels for success, danger, warning, info and default messages, and the web client listens to them through the bus. Developers call notify methods from server code, for example after a long job finishes. It plugs into the bus and notification services and adds a demo tab on the user form. The benefit is instant feedback without page reloads.
Usage steps
- 1
Per-user notification channels
The user model computes five channel names, one per type: success, danger, warning, info and default. The names are unique to the user. The browser subscribes to them when the session starts.
- Five typed channels
- Unique per user
- Subscribed at session start

Send a notification from code
A developer calls the notify helper on a user record with a title and message and the right type. The server posts it to the user's channel on the bus. No reload is needed on the client side.
- Notify helper per type
- Title and message
- Posted on the bus

Display the toast in the browser
A web service listens for bus events and shows the toast with the chosen colour. The message can contain formatted markup. An optional button can open a related record or action when clicked.
- Bus listener service
- Markup in message
- Optional action button

Test from the user form
A Test web notify tab on the user form lets a developer send sample notifications of each type and confirm the setup. It is intended for testing and can be left out in production.
- Demo tab on the user
- One test per type
- For testing only
