BioTime Attendance

This module connects Odoo HR Attendance to a BioTime 8.5 time-clock server so that fingerprint and card punches become Odoo attendance records. An administrator registers the server address and credentials, employees are matched by an employee code, and scheduled jobs sync employees and attendances and close open records. It plugs into the HR and Attendance apps. HR officers use it to avoid manual entry. The benefit is automatic, reliable attendance from the biometric device.

   Register the BioTime server

   In the server form the administrator enters the server name, IP, port, admin username and password, department code, area code and the UTC offset. Only one server can be active at a time or a validation error appears. Chatter is available on the server record.

   Test the connection

   The Ping server button requests a token from the BioTime server and shows the result. Errors from the server are shown to the user as messages. The token is stored for later calls.

   Match employees by code

   Each employee carries a ZK employee code. New employees can be sent to the BioTime server by a scheduled job, and employees removed from the device can be removed there too. The employee views show the code field.

   Sync attendance records

   The Sync Attendances cron fetches punches page by page from the server and creates Odoo check-in and check-out records with the device IDs. The last sync time is kept on the server. Attendance rows carry a not recorded flag and the server reference.

   Close open attendances

   A Close Attendances cron closes attendance records that were left open. The Sync Employees cron keeps the employee list aligned. Together they keep the attendance list clean without manual work.
