Overview
Odoo saves records automatically when a user leaves a form, which can store unintended edits. This module patches the form and list controllers and buttons so changes are saved only on explicit action. It also overrides sale order confirmation so each order is validated before being confirmed. It is meant for administrators and teams that want tighter control over data entry in the web client and Sales.
Usage steps
- 1
Disable form autosave
A patch of the form controller stops silent saving when leaving a record or switching records. The user must click Save explicitly.
- Applies to all form views
- Explicit Save required
- 2
Guard list editing
The list controller and renderer are patched so editable lists do not save rows automatically. Users confirm edits deliberately.
- Editable list rows
- No silent save
- 3
Guard action buttons
The view button component is patched so clicking an action button does not trigger an unintended save first. This avoids saving partial data before actions run.
- View button override
- Prevents partial saves
- 4
Confirm sale orders safely
The confirm action of sale orders is overridden to check each order's confirmation error message. Already confirmed or cancelled orders are skipped and others raise a clear error.
- UserError on invalid orders
- Skips confirmed or cancelled
