Overview
Odoo tracks customer and vendor status through hidden ranks, which makes it hard to see or set who a partner is. This module adds Is A Customer and Is A Vendor checkboxes on the partner form and syncs the ranks. Sales, purchase, invoice and payment forms then filter their partner lists accordingly. It serves sales, purchasing and accounting users.
Usage steps
- 1
Flag the partner
On the partner form tick Is A Customer and or Is A Vendor. Defaults are taken from the context when the partner is created from a sale or purchase screen.
- is_customer
- is_vendor
- default_get from context
- 2
Update ranks
Changing a flag updates customer rank or supplier rank accordingly. Unticking resets the rank so standard filters behave correctly.
- change_vendor_rank
- chang_cust_rank
- 3
Filter sales documents
Sale order forms restrict the partner selector to customers. This avoids choosing vendors by mistake.
- Domain on partner_id
- Customers only
- 4
Filter purchase and invoices
Purchase orders show vendors only and invoices adapt the partner list to the move type. The payment form updates partner type on change.
- Vendor bills
- Payment partner type
