Notification Sound

Users working in other windows miss Odoo notifications. This module adds a notification sound preference on the user and plays a sound in the browser when a notification arrives. The flag is passed to the client through the session information. It is useful for support, sales and any team relying on chat and inbox alerts.

   Enable in preferences

   The user ticks the notification sound option on their user form or preferences. The setting is stored on the user record.

   Expose to the client

   The session info method adds the flag so the web client knows if it should play sounds. No extra request is needed.

   Play the sound

   When a notification is received the client component plays the sound if enabled. Users hear alerts without watching the tab.

   Disable any time

   Unticking the option stops sounds immediately for that user. Other users are unaffected.
