Overview
Demo instances need a frictionless way to let prospects in. This module exposes a public route that authenticates the demo user and redirects to the backend. It is intended only for demonstration databases, since it uses fixed demo credentials in code. Administrators of demo systems use it.
Usage steps
- 1
Open the demo URL
The visitor opens /web/demo_login on the site. The route is public so no login screen is shown.
- Public route
- Optional redirect parameter
- 2
Authenticate the demo user
The controller builds a password credential for the demo user and authenticates the session. No form is filled.
- Session authentication
- Demo user only
- 3
Redirect to the backend
After authentication the visitor is redirected to /web or the given redirect path. The demo session then behaves like a normal login.
- Default redirect /web
- 4
Use only on demo systems
Because credentials are fixed in code the module must never be installed on production. Remove it after the demonstration.
- Security caution
- Remove after demo
