Overview
Companies with several warehouses often ship different lines of one order from different places. This module adds a Multi-Warehouse option in Sales settings and a Warehouse column on order lines. Availability is shown per line warehouse and delivery is routed to the chosen warehouse. Salespeople and warehouse staff use it inside Sales and Inventory.
Usage steps
- 1
Enable the feature
Turn on the multi-warehouse option in Sales settings. Orders then carry a flag showing whether per-line warehouses are active.
- sale_order_multi_warehouse
- Settings toggle
- 2
Choose warehouse per line
On a sale order select a warehouse in each line, or let the order warehouse apply. The choice-per-line flag on the order controls the column.
- warehouse_id
- choose_warehouse_per_line
- 3
See availability
Forecast and available quantity are computed for the line's warehouse rather than the order default. This shows real stock where it will ship from.
- availability_warehouse_id
- Qty at date
- 4
Confirm and split delivery
On confirmation procurement values include each line's warehouse so the delivery is created in the right warehouse. One order can produce several transfers.
- Procurement values by warehouse
- Several deliveries
- 5
Protect against unsafe changes
After deliveries are started the warehouse of a line is locked and changes are checked against open moves and documents. An error explains what blocks the change.

Reroute open moves
When a change is allowed the open warehouse moves are rerouted to the new warehouse. This keeps picking documents aligned with the order.
