Overview

Collections teams often need a quick printed list of what customers owe, taken from selected journal items rather than a full aged report. This module adds a "Customer Debt Report" action on the journal items list that opens a small wizard. The user chooses whether to include all balances, only debit balances or only credit balances and sets the report title. The PDF groups the selected lines per customer with totals. It plugs into Accounting and is used by accountants and collectors.

Usage steps

  1. 1

    Select journal items

Open Accounting > Journal Items and tick the lines you want in the report, typically filtered by customer accounts. The report works on the selection, not the whole list. Use the usual filters and grouping first.

    • Filter to customer accounts
    • Tick lines
  2. 2

    Open the debt report wizard

From the Actions menu choose "Customer Debt Report". A wizard opens carrying the selected lines. If nothing was selected the system stops with a message asking for at least one journal item.

    • Server action bound to journal items
    • Validation of empty selection
  3. 3

    Pick the balance filter

Choose "Full", "Debit only" or "Credit only" balances. Changing the choice updates the lines included through an onchange. This lets you print only customers who owe, or only those with credit.

    • Lines refresh on change

    Set the title and print

Optionally edit the report title, then press Print. A PDF is generated with lines grouped by customer and totals. Cancel closes the wizard.
