Overview
When registering a customer or vendor payment, the accountant usually has to leave the form to check how much the partner owes or is owed. This module adds a computed Net Balance field to the payment form, next to the partner, showing receivable minus payable. It plugs into Accounting payments and helps cashiers and accountants avoid overpaying or under-collecting. It is read only and changes no accounting data.
Usage steps
- 1
Open a payment
Go to Accounting > Customers > Payments or Vendors > Payments and create or open a payment. Choose the partner. The balance is calculated as soon as a partner is set.
- Payment form
- Partner required
- 2
Read the Net Balance
The Net Balance field appears next to the partner. It equals the partner receivable minus payable using the partner totals. With no partner it shows zero.
- partner_balance_due

- Zero without partner
- 3
Decide the amount
Compare the balance with the payment amount before confirming. This helps to settle in full or partly with confidence. The information is shown in the payment currency.

No accounting side effects
The field is computed and not stored, so posting a payment behaves exactly as before. Uninstalling removes only the display. No data migration is needed.
