Disable Quick Create

Relational fields in Odoo offer an inline Create option that makes it easy to add duplicate or misspelled records by accident. This module removes that inline option everywhere while keeping Create and edit. It affects all Odoo apps because it patches the relational field behaviour in the web client. Data entry staff are guided to search existing records or create them through the full dialog. The main benefit is cleaner master data such as partners and products.

   Install the module

   Install it from Apps. No settings or menus are added and no configuration is required. The change applies to every user once the web assets reload.

   Type in a relational field

   In any Many2one field start typing a value. The dropdown suggests existing records but no longer shows the inline Create entry.

   Use Create and edit

   When a record really is new, choose Create and edit. The full form opens so you fill the required fields before saving.

   Check the result

   Try the same field in sales, purchase or contacts to confirm the behaviour is consistent. Uninstall the module to restore the default behaviour.
