ZK Biometric Attendance

Many workplaces use ZKTeco-style biometric devices whose punches must be copied into Odoo attendance by hand. This module connects to such devices by IP address, tests the connection and fetches punch logs into a log table and then into attendance. Each device has its own time zone, mode, and a silence alert when it stops reporting. Employees are matched by their device user id, and unmatched punches can be fixed later. It plugs into Odoo Attendances and Employees.

   Add a device

   Open ZK Devices > Devices and create a device with name, IP address, port, communication password, time zone and company.

   Test the connection

   Press Test Connection on the device form. The connection state field shows whether the device answers.

   Map employees

   On the employee form fill the ZK user id so device punches match the employee. Devices can also auto-create employees.

   Fetch punches

   Press Fetch Now or wait for the scheduled job. Punches are stored in Punch Logs and turned into attendance records according to the attendance mode.

   Review punch logs

   Open Punch Logs to see time, device, user id, employee, punch type, attendance link, state and note for each punch.

   Fix unmatched punches

   Use the fix unmatched action after mapping the missing employees. A silence alert warns when a device stops sending data.
