Stock Quantity Control

Warehouse users sometimes type a processed quantity larger than the ordered demand, which silently over-receives or over-delivers. This module adds an option on each operation type that stops validation when any line's quantity exceeds its demand. It extends Inventory operation types and the transfer validation, and lists the offending products in the error. Stock accuracy and purchase or sales fulfilment are protected without changing other rules.

   Turn the control on for an operation type

   In Inventory configuration the stock manager opens an operation type and ticks Block Quantity Above Demand in the Quantity Control group. The option is per operation type, so receipts, deliveries and internal transfers can be treated differently. Only stock managers can change it.

   Process a transfer

   The warehouse user opens a receipt, delivery or transfer and fills the quantity on each line, then presses Validate. Lines that are cancelled or already done are ignored. The check runs before the transfer is completed.

   Compare quantity with demand

   For each line the system compares the processed quantity with the demand using the unit of measure precision. Any line above its demand is collected. If none exceeds, validation proceeds normally.

   See the error and fix it

   A message names the transfer and lists each product with its demand and processed quantity. The user reduces the quantity or adjusts the demand and validates again. Nothing is posted until the transfer is corrected.

   Migration keeps existing setups

   A post-migration script in version 19.0.1.0.2 keeps existing operation type settings consistent after an upgrade. Administrators do not need to reconfigure. The module holds no other data.
