Product Price Editor

This application lets sales and purchasing staff see and change product selling prices directly in list views instead of opening each product. Three prices (wholesale, retail and a third) are tied to three pricelists, with optional columns for cost and the last purchase price, vendor, date and bill. It integrates with Purchase so buyers can update selling prices from an order line while seeing the margin. Fine-grained groups decide who may see or edit each price.

   Configure the price settings

   Under Price Management the administrator opens the settings form and ticks which columns to show, wholesale, retail, third, cost, last price, last vendor, last date and last bill. For each price he selects the pricelist and the reference quantity. A default configuration record is installed. Only one settings record is needed.

   Restrict who sees and edits prices

   Each price can be limited to allowed users and groups in the settings form, and viewer groups exist for price, cost, wholesale, retail, third, last price, last vendor, last date and last bill. A Price Permissions tab on the user form grants them. Managers have the price manager group. Users without the group do not see the columns.

   Edit prices inline on products

   The Product Price menu opens a list of product templates and the Product Variants Price menu lists variants. Wholesale, retail and third prices are editable columns next to reference, cost and unit of measure. The user types the new price and saves, and the linked pricelist is updated. Search and group by work as in any list.

   See last purchase information

   The same lists show the last purchase price, vendor, date and bill as read-only columns computed from vendor bills. Buyers compare them with cost and current selling prices. Each column obeys its own viewer group. The bill can be opened from the list.

   Update selling prices from purchase lines

   On a purchase order line the buyer opens the selling price wizard, sees the product with its wholesale, retail and third prices, edits them and saves. The order line shows the margin of each price against the purchase cost. The wizard writes the values back to the product pricelists. This lets buyers reprice right when costs change.
