Overview
HR teams must collect and hand back a fixed set of documents when an employee joins or leaves. This module adds Entry and Exit checklists to the employee and computes a progress rate for each. It builds on the Employees app and the Employee Documents module. The benefit is a clear view of what is still missing before onboarding or offboarding can be closed.
Usage steps
- 1
Enable the checklist feature
An administrator ticks the checklist option in HR settings. The flag is kept on the employee as check_list_enable. When it is off the checklist tab stays hidden.
- Setting: enable_checklist
- Off by default
- 2
Define entry checklist items
Under Employees > Configuration > Entry Checklist HR adds the documents required at joining, such as certificates. Each item is an employee.checklist record with type Entry. Items are reusable for all employees.
- Menu: Entry Checklist
- Type: Entry Process
- 3
Define exit checklist items
Under Exit Checklist HR lists what must be issued or returned at departure. These items share the same model with type Exit. Demo data includes salary and experience certificates.
- Menu: Exit Checklist
- Type: Exit Process
- 4
Tick items on the employee
On the employee form the Checklist tab shows two groups, Entry Checklist and Exit Checklist. HR selects the items completed for that employee. The choice is stored in many-to-many fields.
- Tab: Checklist
- Groups: Entry, Exit
- 5
Follow the progress rate
The system computes Entry Progress and Exit Progress against a maximum of 100. The values appear on the form and as columns in the employee list and kanban. HR can filter employees that are still incomplete.
- Fields: Entry Progress, Exit Progress
- Shown in list and kanban
