Overview
Laundries need to track each customer garment from intake to return and bill it correctly. This module adds laundry orders with dress lines, washing types with service charges, extra works and a separate washing work order per order. It plugs into Sales for order confirmation and Invoicing for billing. Laundry managers assign staff and follow the state of each order, and users get an analysis report of orders.
Usage steps
- 1
Define washing types
Under Configuration, open Washing Type and create each service with a name, an assigned user and a service charge. These types are picked later on every order line. The charge feeds the line amount.
- Name, Assigned Person, Service Charge
- Required fields: name and charge
- 2
Define additional works
Under Additional Works, add extra jobs such as stain removal with their own charge. They are selected as many-to-many on order lines. The extra amount is added to the line total.
- Extra Work field on order lines
- Charge added to line amount
- 3
Create a laundry order
Under Laundry Order, create a new order, choose the customer with invoice and shipping addresses, and assign the laundry person. Add dress lines with product, item count, washing type and description. The system numbers the order and computes the total.
- Customer, Laundry Person, Order Date
- Line: Dress, No of items, Washing Type, Extra Work
- Terms and conditions note
- 4
Confirm the order
Press Confirm on the draft order. The system creates the linked sale order and the washing work orders and moves the order to processing. A smart button shows the number of works.
- Button: Confirm
- Smart button: works count
- 5
Process washing works
Under Laundry Works, staff open each work and press Start Wash, then mark it done. Each work carries date, user and description. When all works finish the order is ready to return.
- States: Draft, Washing, Done
- Buttons: Start Wash, Set to Done
- 6
Invoice the customer
Use Create Invoice on the order or the sale advance payment wizard, which is overridden to build laundry invoices. The invoice status shows Nothing to Invoice, Upselling Opportunity or Fully Invoiced. An invoice smart button opens the invoices.
- Button: Create Invoice
- Invoice status and count
- 7
Return or cancel
When the clothes are ready press Return to hand them back, which moves the order to Returned. Cancel is available when the customer withdraws the order. Chatter keeps the history.
- Buttons: Return, Cancel
- States: Draft, Process, Done, Returned, Cancelled
- 8
Analyse orders
Under Report, open Laundry Order Analysis to group and filter orders by customer, state and period. Managers use it to see workload and revenue. It reads from the order data directly.
