Overview
Expiring visas, contracts and documents are often noticed too late. This module lets an administrator define reminder rules on any model and date field with a filter and a number of days before. A daily scheduled action creates activities for users or groups and records every notice in a log. Attachments also get an expiry date. It plugs into Discuss activities and any business model.
Usage steps
- 1
Define a reminder rule
From the Dashboard Reminders menu create a rule with a name, model, date field, type and the number of days before notification.

Filter the records
Use the Domain widget to limit the rule to matching records. The record count shows how many currently match and View Records opens them.

- 3
Choose the responsible
Select whether reminders go to users or groups, then pick the users, groups and write the reminder message.

Daily scheduled action
The Run Scheduled Activities cron runs every day, finds matching records and schedules an activity for each responsible user.
- Cron interval: 1 day
- Creates mail activities

Follow the reminder log
The Dashboard Reminders Log lists each notice with record, model, field, message and responsible user. View Record opens the source and Mark as Done closes it.
- Buttons: View Record, Mark as Done
- Group by reminder or responsible
- 6
Attachment expiry
Attachments get an Expiration Date and a stat button to show related reminders, so documents such as licences can also be tracked.
- Field: Expiration Date
