Attachments in Portal

This module lets portal customers see and add attachments on the documents they open in the customer portal. An administrator chooses in the settings which models show the attachment area. Portal customers of sales, purchase or invoicing documents use it to exchange files with the company without email. It plugs into the Odoo portal and the res.config.settings screen. The benefit is that files stay attached to the right document.

   Choose the models in settings

   In the general settings the administrator opens the attachments-in-portal section and selects the models with a tags field. The choice is stored per company. Only the selected models show the attachment area.

   Show attachments on the portal page

   When a customer opens a supported document in the portal, a template adds an attachments block listing the files. Each file can be opened or downloaded. The block appears only for the selected models.

   Upload a file from the portal

   The customer uses the upload control in the block to send a file. The file is stored as an attachment on that document. Internal users then see it in the record chatter and attachments.

   Manage access per company

   Because the choice is stored on the company, each company in a multi-company setup can enable different models. Administrators can change it at any time and the portal reflects it at once.
