Overview
This small module adds two checkboxes, Customer and Vendor, to the partner form. Users tick them to state whether a contact is a customer, a vendor or both. It extends the standard contact model so it works across Sales, Purchase and Accounting. Sales and purchase teams use it to separate the contact lists. The benefit is a clear split without changing the partner structure.
Usage steps
- 1
Open a contact
From Contacts or any partner link the user opens the contact form. The two new boolean fields are added to the form view. They are visible to users who can edit partners.

Mark as customer, vendor or both
The user ticks Customer, Vendor or both and saves. The flags are stored on the partner record. A partner can hold both flags at once.
- Customer flag
- Vendor flag
- Both allowed
- 3
Filter and group partners
Because the flags are real fields, users can filter or group the partner list by them from the search options. This gives separate customer and vendor lists.

Use in other modules and reports
Other custom modules and reports can read the flags to limit selections to real customers or vendors. Existing data is not changed until users set the flags.
