Overview
Users print a report and then send the file by hand. This module adds a Share entry to the Actions menu of every form and list view that lists every report linked to the current model automatically, respects the report's groups and domain, and renders a plain PDF. The file is then handed to the device share sheet (WhatsApp, e-mail, Bluetooth, Save to Files), or sent as a tokenised expiring link that also works on desktop and without HTTPS. It also covers the dynamic accounting reports such as partner ledger and follow-up, and works on a selection of records.
Usage steps
- 1
Open the Share entry
In the Actions (cog) menu of any form or in a list with records ticked, the user clicks Share. The dialog appears with the reports bound to that model. No per-model configuration is needed and a report added later appears automatically.
- Action menu: Share
- Reports bound to the model
- No configuration per model
- 2
Choose the report and records
The user picks the report to share. With several records selected a checkbox decides between one merged PDF or one document each, and a limit on records per share applies. The system re-checks the report's groups and the read access to the records.
- Merge into one PDF or one each
- Limit on records per share
- Access re-checked
- 3
Render the PDF
The PDF is rendered through the standard report route so it matches the printed report. A clean file name is built from the record and partner, with Arabic transliterated if needed so messaging apps keep it. Rendering errors are reported as clear messages.
- Standard report route
- Clean, transliterated file name
- Clear error messages

Send through the device share sheet
On a device that supports it and over HTTPS, the PDF itself opens in the native share sheet for WhatsApp, Telegram, e-mail, Bluetooth or Save to Files. The user chooses the app and the recipient there. Nothing is stored for this path.
- Needs HTTPS and a supporting device
- Native share sheet
- Nothing stored
- 5
Send a tokenised link
As an alternative the file is stored as an attachment with an expiring token and a link is sent by WhatsApp, Telegram, e-mail or copied to the clipboard. It works over plain HTTP and on desktop. A scheduled job removes expired share links.
- Expiring token attachment
- WhatsApp, Telegram, e-mail, clipboard
- Cron removes expired links
- 6
Share accounting reports
A Share button is added to the dynamic accounting reports such as the partner ledger, customer statement, follow-up report and aged reports. A partner-specific report can only be shared from a contact. An empty document from the accounting engine is refused with a message.
- Partner ledger and follow-up
- Contact-only partner reports
- Empty document refused
